University teachers on strike

LAHORE, Sept 25: The Punjab University Academic Staff Association (PUASA) will observe a two-hour token strike and hold a protest demonstration against the Higher Education Commission’s policies on Wednesday (today).

The PUASA observes the strike on the call of the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Associations, which has held two rounds of discussion with the HEC officials and awaiting the final round of negotiations to resolve issues confronting teachers as well as the independence of the universities.
