Ex-minister not arrested

By Syed Irfan Raza

ISLAMABAD: Former minister of state for defence Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani was not arrested on Monday even after the Supreme Court had rejected his bail before arrest plea.

Talking to Dawn, acting Inspector General of Islamabad Police Shahid Nadeem Baloch said he had not received any orders for Mr Bijarani’s arrest. He said the court had asked the accused to seek bail from the Sindh High Court.

Newly appointed Chief Commissioner of Islamabad Hamid Ali Khan said he knew that police had been called to the court but he could not say why the accused had not been arrested.
