HYDERABAD, Aug 31: Violence broke out in Odh colony after a man was killed and six others injured in a clash between two groups in a marriage ceremony within the jurisdiction of Hussainabad police station on Friday, reports said.

The heirs and relatives of the deceased blocked the Hyderabad-Kotri road. They lit bonfires to protest the killing. Imran and Irfan, both brothers have been injured and shifted to Bhittai hospital Latifabad, police said.

They said that incident took place when two groups at the marriage party exchanged hot words over presence of some male members near women enclosure.

The deceased was identified as Sattar, the uncle of bridge Sakina. She is daughter of Bika Odh. Her bridegroom had come from Nusrat Bhutto colony, Karachi.

A heavy contingent of police reached there to bring situation under control. However, till filing of this report Hyderabad-Kotri road remained blocked by protesters.

Police are reported to have arrested five people.
