KARACHI: Admission forms: CAP deadline ends today
Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal members of the National Assembly Mohammad Hussain Mehanti and Laeeq Khan have demanded that all students who have passed class X examination be given admission to colleges and more educational institutions be set up to cater to the educational needs of the big city, adds PPI. In a joint statement issued here, they said a number of students, who passed their matriculation exams this year, were worried about their future because of the limited number of colleges. They feared that this shortage might deprive many intelligent, qualifying students of college admission. The MNAs charged that while the number of matric students in Karachi was rising every year, the present city government was reluctant to open new colleges. They asked why the city government was so indifferent to students and not establishing new colleges or even increasing the number of seats in the existing ones. They said former city nazim Niamatullah Khan during his tenure had given as many as 32 new colleges to Karachi, but the present city government had opened not even a single new college.
