ISLAMABAD, Aug 26: A woman was killed in a road accident while a man was drowned in a nullah here on Sunday, police said.

In the first incident Tazeem Akhtar, said to be in her 40s, suffered multiple injuries when a truck (KLE-4088) hit her while she was crossing a road at Sihala Bazaar.

She was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.

In another incident Robeel Ahmad, 21, a resident of Tarlai Kalan, was drowned in Korang Nullah.

The police said Ahmad was bathing in the nullah when a flash flood swept him away. Shortly after getting information, the area police rushed to the spot and tried to locate the body.

Later navy divers were called in who also searched for the body but their efforts too remained unsuccessful.

Efforts will be made again to find the body in sunlight on Monday, the police said.
