Aamir Atlas crowned champion


ISLAMABAD, Aug 21: Aamir Atlas of Pakistan outclassed Malaysia’s Azlan Iskander 3-2 to win the final of the Chief of the Air Staff International squash championship at the Mushaf Squash Complex on Tuesday.

Aamir, who was seeded fourth won, the first set 11-5 but lost the next two sets (6-11, 6-11) to the world No.17 Malaysian.

The contest for supremacy was neck to neck in the fourth set which Aamir won 11-10 (5-3).

By conquering the fifth set 11-6, Aamir captured the crown of the US$25,000 championship.

The match went on for 60 minutes.—Agencies
