Jobless man commits suicide

KASUR, Aug 17: Poverty and joblessness forced a man to commit suicide in Burj Kala village in Ganda Singhwala on Friday. Hanif had been jobless for some time and facing financial problems. Following a quarrel with his wife over some domestic dispute, he committed suicide by hanging himself with the ceiling of his room.

Police are investigating.

LOOTED: Three dacoits deprived a trader of cash, jewellery and valuables in Kot Murad Khan here on Friday.

The dacoits entered the house of Amin and held the family hostage at gunpoint. They collected 60,000 in cash, gold ornaments and cell phones and escaped.

Two masked men robbed a man of Rs85,000 in cash and injured him on resistance in precincts of the Mustafabad police station.

Munir was going to Jevan Singh from Ladhnekay on his motorcycle when the armed men snatched cash from him. The dacoits also tried to snatch his motorcycle, and injured him when he put up resistance.
