38-member team leaves for India

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, Aug 13: A 38-member team, comprising parliamentarians, industrialists, academicians and journalists, left here for India on Monday to interact with their counterparts there.

The interaction is aimed at promoting understanding between India and Pakistan at various levels, says South Asian Free Media Association (Safma) Secretary-General Imtiaz Alam.

He says the delegation will also join Indian human right activists, intellectuals, journalists, artists and prominent citizens in a “candle-lit vigil” close to the Wagah borders on the 60th Independence Day celebrations of the two neighbours.

The team will return on Aug 15, he adds.
