Plot to attack Peshawar airport foiled

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Aug 8: The police on Wednesday foiled a terrorist plot to hit the Peshawar International Airport and seized five missiles aimed at the airport. The missiles had been placed on the bed of the Bara River near the Bazidkhel village, police said.

A passerby saw the Russian-made missiles and informed policemen deployed at a nearby checkpoint. Police called personnel of the bomb disposal squad who reached the place at 6:20am and defused the missiles. Police also seized five fuses, batteries and timers.
