KARACHI, Aug 3: Nur Ali, Pakistan's internationally acclaimed race car driver, flew through his test laps for the Indy Racing League (IRL’s) Indy Pro Series, setting some of the fastest lap times of any of the cars on the race track recently.

Nur was at the 1.5 mile Kentucky Speedway race track in Sparta, Kentucky — USA for a practice test on oval tracks which make up part of the schedule in the Indy Pro Series. The Indy Pro Series is the feeder series for the Indy Racing League, which has as its showcase the legendary Indianapolis 500.

“It was exciting all the way and I knew the going was good for me, the test series is a tough exercise but nevertheless, inspiring because you are racing against the world’s best in race car driving. Having clocked some of the fastest lap times has encouraged me to go for the big one,” said Nur.

Nur has been meeting with series management, as well as potential sponsors, to discuss the possibility of becoming the first Pakistani driver in the Indy Pro Series.—Agencies
