PM seeks report on Solangi’s murder


ISLAMABAD, Aug 3: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has sought a report from the Sindh government on the murder of photo journalist Muneer Solangi and has assured the wife of the deceased that she would get justice.

Speaking at a press conference, the wife of the KTN cameraman, said she met PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Secretary-General Mushahid Hussain who took her to the prime minister. The aggrieved woman appealed to Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry to take suo motu notice of the incident, provide justice to her and punish the culprits.

She claimed that a judicial inquiry into the murder found gunman of a sitting Sindh minister and two others responsible for the killing of her husband while Provincial Minister Altaf Uner and senior police and administration officials were found indirectly involved in the murder.

Additional District and Session Judge, Larkana, Manzoor Hussain Zaidi, who was the inquiry officer, had recommended that the minister may be directed to produce the accused Maula Madad before the trial court and action against the minister be taken if he failed to do so. — Our Reporter
