LAKKI MARWAT, Aug 2: A boy was shot dead for giving evidence against two accused persons in the Dallokhel village in the jurisdiction of the Lakki Marwat police station on Thursday.

Police said that the accused, identified as Mudasir and Ibrahim, ambushed and shot dead Mehtab Ali when he was returning from his uncle’s house. They were angry because Mehtab had given evidence against them in a theft case.

Police said that a case had been filed against both the accused under section 302/34 PPC.

BOY COMMITS SUICIDE: A boy committed suicide in the locality of the railway station in the jurisdiction of the Lakki Marwat police station on Thursday.

Police said that a boy, Abdul Jabar, had an argument with his father, Yar Mohammad. He shot himself with a pistol during the night as a consequence of which he was fatally injured. When his father woke up for offering Fajr prayers he found his son bleeding profusely. The boy was immediately taken to the city hospital from where he was referred to a hospital in Peshawar. However, he died while being taken there.

The boy’s father handed over the pistol to the Lakki police. A case has been registered against him under section 13 AO.
