PESHAWAR, July 28: The Fred Hollows Foundation Australia has announced extension of vocational training and psychotherapy programme in the NWFP for another year. This was stated by Dr Robina Gillani, the country director of the foundation, during a visit to the Paraplegic Centre in Hayatabad on Saturday.
She pledged provision of 24 wheelchairs and as many sewing machines for the centre. She appreciated the efforts of management of the centre in treating and rehabilitating patients having spinal cord injuries.
Dr Gobina inspected the renovation work of the recently completed centre. The work was completed with the assistance of the foundation.
The Chief Executive of the centre, Dr Ilyas Syed, briefed Dr Robina about equipments that were provided by the foundation, said an official handout.
Dr Gillani exchanged views with female patients and took keen interest in the skill-building programme.
The Paraplegic Centre is an autonomous body, providing free of cost, adoptive and supportive equipments to the patients.
The centre, apart from extending medical and nursing services, is also providing physiotherapy, occupational, recreational and psychotherapy facilities.
