KARACHI: CNG buses from next month: minister


KARACHI, July 26: To help control the growing environmental pollution some 1,000 new CNG buses will stat plying the city’s roads from next month, Sindh Minister for Environment and Alternative Energy Dr Saghir Ahmed said, talking to a delegation at his office here on Thursday.

He hoped the new 140-seater CNG buses would reduce the threats to the environment.

Dr Saghir said the government was aware of the hazards of air pollution, adding that in this regard public awareness drives had been launched.

He said the new buses would ply on overcrowded routes.—PPI
