KARACHI, July 25: Slow left-arm spinner Ahmer Sohail’s exceptional effort with the leather spun Zone-VII Whites to a massive 90-run victory over Zone-V Greens in a KCCA Inter-zonal Under-17 Championship match at the Asifabad Ground on Tuesday.

Batting first, Zone-VII Whites reached 223 before being dismissed in the 43rd over. Hamid Shahid remained the top scorer with 61. Babar Khan grabbed six wickets for 69.

In reply, Zone-V Greens crashed to 133 all out in 40.1 overs. Shahzaib Khan made 43. Ahmer Sohail, in an amazing spell, took nine wickets for 33 runs, the best bowling figures so far in the competition.

Meanwhile, Zone-II Whites inflicted a ten-wicket defeat upon Zone-I Blues in a low-scoring match at the TMC Ground.

Pace duo of Fareed Khan and Latif Junejo took 6-33 and 4-45 respectively to dismiss Zone-I Blues for a paltry 84 in 24.3 overs. Zone-II Whites raced to victory in the ninth over without losing any wicket. Sami Arshad finished 35 not out and Irfan Lodhi made an unbeaten 28.
