Naeem refuses to comment

LAHORE, July 20: Lawyer Naeem Bokhari, whose letter to Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry is believed to have initiated the filing of the presidential reference against him, said on Friday he was unable to comment on the Supreme Court ruling reinstating Justice Iftikhar because he had not seen its copy.

Referring to the history of the judiciary in Pakistan, he said all Supreme Court verdicts — from the hanging of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto to the restoration of Nawaz Sharif as prime minister and from the denial of relief to Benazir Bhutto to declaring legal the army takeovers — had been accepted. So, there is no reason why one shouldn’t accept this decision too, he said.—Staff Reporter
