ISLAMABAD, July 3: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will take up references seeking disqualification of Tehrik-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan as member national assembly on July 16.

This was decided at a meeting held here on Tuesday with Chief Election Commissioner Mr Justice (retd) Qazi Mohammad Farooq in the chair. Lahore High Court Judge Justice Nasim Sikandar, Balochistan High Court Judge Justice Ahmed Khan Lashari and Secretary EC Kanwar Dilshad attended the meeting.

It ordered copies of the references attached with accompaniments to be despatched to the respondent along with a notice; the respondent would also be asked to file his written statement on the fixed date.
