Sacked teachers demand reinstatement

By Our Correspondent

MIRPURKHAS, July 3: The Action Committee for Reinstatement of Teachers appointed in 1998 in the district observed token hunger outside the press club on Tuesday, demanding the government to fulfil its reinstatement promise.

Manzoor Mahar, Abdul Jabbar Rahimoon, Syed Ismail Shah, Mohammad Safar and others told reporters that they had been removed from service in 1998 after being appointed teachers. On Sindh High Court’s orders many teachers were reinstated while the remaining ignored by the government.

Teachers demanded of the Supreme Court to take suo motu action for their reinstatement due to financial constraints. They vowed to continue their protest till the acceptance of demands.

RALLY: A rally was taken out from Syed Khadim Ali Shah village on Monday by the PML Mirpurkhas in support of President Pervez Musharraf. The supporters were led by Syed Zulfiqar Shah, district secretary of PML.
