Import of cotton notified

ISLAMABAD, June 18: The government has notified import of long staple cotton via Wagha border from India.

The decision was announced through a notification issued by the commerce ministry here on Monday.

The long staple cotton will be importable at a land route from all other countries as well.

As he cotton production remained short of the target this year, textile manufacturers approached the government to allow them import of cotton through land route from India.
