PESHAWAR, June 13: The government is planning to introduce homeopathic and Tibb-i-Islami methods of treatment along side allopathy at hospitals of the Federally Administered Tribal Area, officials said.

NWFP Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai had given the go-ahead signal to the directorate of health, Fata. “The governor has asked the authorities concerned to prepare the PC-1 of the scheme,” they said.

A few days back a delegation of the National Council for Homeopathy had met the governor and briefed him about the effectiveness of the homeopathy.

The delegation had requested the governor to introduce the homeopathic way of treatment in Fata hospitals which, they said, was cheaper and effective.

The directorate of health has initiated preparation of the PC-1 which would be presented to the governor for approval, officials said.

Initially, homeopathic doctors would be appointed at seven agency headquarters hospitals and later the project would be extended to other hospitals, they said.

“We have prepared the PC-1 which has been sent to the NWFP health department for review,” officials said.—Correspondent
