Seven BNP-M leaders detained

QUETTA, June 3: Police detained seven leaders of Balochistan National Party (Mengal) for several hours on Sunday but the party held a public meeting in Nushki and vowed to continue its struggle for national rights of the Baloch people.

BNP-M secretary-general Habib Jalib Baloch, Malik Wali Kakar and Agha Hasan Baloch were taken into custody near Hazarganji while they were going to Nushki to address the meeting.

A BNP-M spokesman claimed that the party’s acting president Dr Jehanzeb Jamaldani, Khursheed Jamaldani, Ramzan and Qasim were arrested in Nushki. The arrested leaders were freed in the evening, the spokesman said.

He said that despite deployment of a heavy contingent of police in Nushki, BNP-M activists succeeded in holding a gathering at Gul Khan Naseer Chowk.
