MANSEHRA, June 3: Speakers at a seminar have demanded a change in the system of governance.

The seminar on ‘Islam as compatible religion to contemporary time’ was organised by the Shah Wali-ul-Allah Media Foundation in the district council hall on Sunday.

The speakers termed the present system of government in the country as incompatible to Islam and democracy.

They said that Muslims had ruled the world while following true Islamic thoughts and culture, and provided justice to every one without any discrimination of religion and colour. If they wanted to rule again then they needed a change in their system of governance, they added.

They said that the issuance of religious decrees against other had brought a bad name to Islam and such practices should be restricted.

They said that democracy and the self-styled Islamic moderation had failed in Pakistan and if the government wanted to safeguard the country, it should move to the Islamic system of governance.

Shah Wali-ul-Allah Media Foundation patron-in-chief Maulana Shah Saeed Ahmad Raipuri, Mufti Abdul Khaliq, Maulana Mukhtar Hassan and Maulana Waqar Hassan spoke to the seminar.
