KARACHI, June 3: The Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao group) leaders while expressing grief over May 12 incidents called for promoting harmony amongst all those living in Karachi.
Addressing a public gathering at Sher Shah on Sunday, the party leaders Sikandar Khan Sherpao, Haji Ghufran, Shujaul Mulik and Pakistan Mazdoor Kissan Party chief Afzal Shah Khamosh said they wanted peace in Karachi which was the financial and commercial hub of the country.
The leaders, who are on a visit to the city, said Karachi was a mini-Pakistan and anything happening here had its consequences all over the country.
Expressing solidarity with Pakhtuns living in Karachi, Mr Sherpao said, “We will raise voice for their rights whether they live in Karachi, the NWFP or Balochistan.” He reiterated that his party would raise the problems of Pakhtuns living in Karachi at the federal and provincial levels.
He disclosed that Federal Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao would soon visit Karachi to express grief with the May 12 victims and their families.—PPI
