NAROWAL, May 17: The government-sponsored rally of May 12 in Islamabad has also cost the local shelter home of its new vehicle. Reports said that social welfare district officer Muhammad Asif along with his friends had gone to Islamabad to attend the rally by an official vehicle. He had parked the vehicle outside the flat of one of his friends from where it was stolen.
Officials of the social welfare claimed that the Narowal DCO had allowed the permission for the vehicle.
When contacted, DCO Tahir Yousaf denied that he had granted the permission in this regard. He said that he had summoned a detailed report.
Shelter home superintendent Farzana Ashraf and DO Muhammad Asif were tried to contact but their cell phones were found powered off.
It was learnt that the vehicle purchased for the official use of the shelter home in February, 2007, was being misused by DO Muhammad Asif.
