KARAK, May 7: Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party provincial president Mukhtar Yousufzai has said that all areas in Karak should be supplied with natural gas from the huge reserves found in the district before the same was supplied to other areas.

Speaking to party workers at the residence of Dr Jameel Shah in Terri town, in Banda Daud Shah tehsil, here on Monday, he said the locals had the first claim over the natural resources found in their area and they should not be denied the right to benefit from them.

He said his party would hold talks with the other political parties over the issue soon.

Mr Yousufzai added that his party would work towards removing the deprivation of the people in areas where natural resources were abundant.

He was of the view that apart from the royalty of the Gurguri gas, the ownership of the oil and gas fields should be given to the Pakhtuns of the area.

A meeting of the party would be held in Quetta on May 27, said Mr Yousufzai. He urged workers and other people to participate in the event in large numbers.

PMAP provincial senior vice-president Dr Said Alam Mahsud and provincial information secretary Umer Khan Khattak also spoke on the occasion.
