By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, May 3: The Pakistan team for the forthcoming three-match series against Sri Lanka is likely to be announced on Monday.

The matches to be held in Abu Dhabi have been rescheduled for May 18, 20 and 22.

National selection committee chief Salahuddin Ahmed said that he would try to announce the team by Monday.

He said the ongoing fitness and selection camp to select the team would be concluded on Friday after the second trial match between Fazal Mahmood XI and Imtiaz Ahmed XI.

Shoaib Malik will lead the Fazal Mahmood XI comprising Test cricketers Salman Butt, Imran Farhat, Yasir Hameed, Naved Latif, Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq, Hasan Raza, Kamran Akmal plus Mohammad Irshad, Najaf Shah and Abdur Rehman.

The Imtiaz Ahmed XI will be represented by almost those players, who had recently completed the tour of Bangladesh with Pakistan Academy team.

The second and final phase of the camp will be held from May 10 to 15 after which the selected squad will leave for Abu Dhabi.
