ABBOTTABAD: ‘Techno moot’ in Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD, May 3: The Comsats Institute of Information Technology has planned ‘Techno Moot 2007’ in Abbottabad on May 8-9.

Comsats official Muneer Swati told journalists that it would be the first ever multidimensional gathering of people belonging to different technologies and sciences who would take part in four disciplines, EMCOT 2007, CCIS 2007, CSE and Vision ICT 2007.

In EMCOT 2007, the electrical engineering department is holding an all-Pakistan open competition on electrical systems, microcontrollers and telecommunications exhibition and competition.

At least 20 universities from Pakistan, including eight multinational industries, will participate in the competition.

In CCIS 2007, the mathematics department has taken the task of holding symposium on computational complexities, innovation and solutions with the basic aim to bring together computational scientists from all fields of the traditional sciences i.e. mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, medicines and all branches of engineering.

More than 15 researchers and educationists from the country will attend the symposium.

About 20 software houses and professional programmers would be presenting their work during the programme.

There will be an open competition for local software houses to capture the market by showing their skills by promoting their products.

The Comsoft has offered a free software scheme to visitors through a raffle draw and NGOs, medical colleges and educational institutions are eligible for the scheme.

In Vision 2007, there will be youth parliament, panel discussion, research poster competition, seminars and quiz competition.
