PESHAWAR, May 2: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has disconnected supply to 44 federal and provincial government departments in the last couple of days.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Pesco said the recovery campaign was progressing in full swing, adding that 24 more connections of government departments were cut in addition to the 20 on Saturday, putting the total at 44.

Pesco’s Hazara circle has recovered Rs15.7 million and disconnected 20 connections. Supply to three government schools has been disconnected in Warsak-1 sub-division.

Power to Sardar Ahmad Jan colony’s tube well and Charsadda bus stand was also cut off for non-payment of Rs8, 83,501 arrears.

APP adds: Pesco has also disconnected supply to a number of departments in Swat and Mardan circles, including the water supply schemes.—Bureau Report
