‘Dud’ missile found in green belt

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, April 29: A dud missile was found in a green belt here on Saturday, police said.

The police believe the was one of the missiles from the huge Ojhri Camp arsenal, which had blown up 19 years ago on April 10, 1988 and had caused much devastation.

Some passersby stumbled upon the missile in a Capital Development Authority (CDA) nursery at H-9 and informed the police.

The police and bomb disposal squads rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area. The bomb disposal squad declared the missile “dud” after inspection and took it away with them.

A quick survey of the area where the missile was discovered was undertaken but no other missiles were unearthed.
