NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, April 29: A constable was killed in a farmland near Hairo village Mehrabpur taluka in the wee hours of Sunday over water rotation dispute.
Reports said that police constable Ghulam Abbas was on leave and went to irrigate his lands according to water rotation list, where he was killed.
The deceased's brother, Ali Dost Chang, also serving in police department in Karachi, lodged a complaint with the Mehrabpur police stating that the deceased was in fields on Sunday morning when Ali Ahmed Chang and his three sons Hamid Ali, Abid Ali and Ghulam Abbas killed him. Mehrabpur police registered an FIR against four accused.
‘ENCOUNTER’: Two police constables were injured in an encounter with bandits in Keti Khushik taluka, Kandiaro on Sunday.
Acting on information about presence of bandits in Keti Khushik, a team of Mohabbat Dero police, led by ASI Noor Nabi Abbasi went there.
When the police reached Keti Khushik, the bandits opened fire as a result of which constable Ghulam Mustafa Janwari and Murtaza Sangi were injured.
The injured constables were admitted in the Taluka Hospital of Kandiaro where condition of constable Ghulam Mustafa Janwari is reportedly critical. SHO Mohabbat Dero told Dawn that on the complaint of ASI Noor Nabi Abbasi, an FIR under section 324, 353, 147, 148, 149 PPC and 13-D was registered against 31 people, including Jam Khushik, Sardar, Attur, Mushtaq, Fareed, Jamal, Kamal, Usman Mehrab and Meero.
