KARACHI, April 29: The Income Tax Bar Association Karachi on Saturday awarded its first ever pride of Performance Award to the Chief Justice of Sindh High Court, Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed.

The award was presented to Justice Sabihuddin at the golden jubilee ceremony of the body hosted by the executive committee of the Income Tax Bar Association.

Delivering welcome address, President of Income Tax Bar Karachi, Munawwar Hussain Shaikh said the bar was formed in 1956 with 72 members and after completion of 50 years, it had a strength of about 1,400 members comprising prominent lawyers and tax consultants of the country.

He also expressed his gratitude to Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed for his presence on the occasion and said this was the second time in the history of the body that a chief justice of Sindh High Court honoured a ceremony of the bar.

Later, Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed and Munawwar H. Shaikh jointly presented souvenirs to the former presidents of the bar.

Among other notables, Senior Puisne Judge of SHC, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany, serving and retired judges of Sindh High Court and prominent lawyers of the country, Advocate General Sindh, Anwer Mansoor Khan and President Supreme Court Bar Association, Advocate Munir Ahmed Malik was also present.—APP
