ISLAMABAD, April 28: The Pakistan People’s Party has criticised the treasury benches of the Karachi City Council for allegedly attacking opposition members.

Demanding a FIR and an inquiry into the incident, PPP Information Secretary Sherry Rehman declared the incident as another test for the Musharraf regime and the City District Government of Karachi.

“We do not even need to produce a proof. It is all over the national press. Now it is up to the government to come forward and prove that there is some truth in its claims of according opposition members their due respect and space in the affairs of the legislation,” she said in a statement.

The statement gave details of the last Thursday incident, claiming that members of the City Government Karachi had clashed with opposition members at the council session.
