LARKANA, April 27: A court official of the Session Court of Qambar-Shahdadkot raided the Pakho police post of Qambar police station during a raid and found two men held in illegal confinement.
Usman Kori, resident of Allahdino Tunio village, approached the session court with the complaint that ASI Irshad Massan of Pakho police post had picked up his two relatives Murad Jagirani and Dilshad Jagirani from the house and detained them illegally. He said that the ASI was demanding Rs20,000 to set them free.
The session judge appointed Liaquat Sangi as raid commissioner with the instructions to locate the detained men. When the raid commissioner raided the police post, he found both the men kept in illegal confinement.
The raid commissioner freed both the illegally-confined men after the ASI (in-charge) of the police post failed to produce any documents validating their arrests.
SHO, Qambar police station, Ubedullah Jagirani, and ASI Irshad Massan were asked to appear in the court on Saturday along with the released detainees and record, if they had any, against the villagers.
TWO KILLED: Two persons were killed and two others received bullet injuries in separate incidents in Larkana on Friday.
Six armed men shot at and killed Shaukat Ali Umrani in cattle colony and escaped. The murder was the outcome of an old enmity, police said and began probe. In another incident, two rival groups of Odho clan exchanged fire in Dewan je Garhi’ village in the jurisdiction of Arjia police station where they had gathered to resolve a dispute. They disagreed over an issue and exchanged fire resulting into the death of Abdul Razzak Odho while two others, identified as Manthar and Ghulam Serwar, were injured and admitted to the Chandka Medical College hospital.
WAPDA WORKERS: The Wapda Workers Central Hydroelectric Labour Union has announced a complete lockout in Naduero sub-division from Friday onward to press for the recovery of their colleague Punhal Mirani, a lineman kidnapped a week ago from Naudero.
The union sources said that excluding any emergency, the workers would not perform duties.
However, the workers affiliated with hydroelectric union observed a pen-down and tool down strike for two hours in Larkana on Friday. A procession was also taken out.
PROTEST: People hailing from three localities — Garibabad, Ansari mohalla and Bair road in Qambar town — demanding replacement of three burnt power transformers, took out a procession against the Hesco for its deliberate delay.
Nisar Ansari and Ali Raza Gopang led the protest and alleged that the transformers had burnt 10 days ago, but the Hesco people were reluctant to replace them.
They burnt tyres at Imambargah road and decried Hesco’s apathy over the issue.
