Troops trade fire along border

QUETTA, April 26: Pakistan and Afghanistan forces exchanged heavy fire in Sambaza area along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, some 400kms north of here on Thursday.

According to official sources, Afghan forces started firing on the Pakistan border without any provocation and the Frontier Corps deployed in the area retaliated and returned fire.

The sources said that the Afghan forces used rockets, mortars and heavy machine-guns in the attacks. The exchange of fire continued for about an hour.

No casualty was reported in the incident.
