KARACHI: 22 vehicles stolen

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, April 24: As many as 68 people were deprived of their cars, motorbikes or cellphones here on Tuesday.

Police sources said that 22 vehicles — six cars and 16 motorbikes — were either hijacked or stolen in various localities.

Similarly, 24 people complained that they were intercepted by bandits at gunpoint, who deprived them of their cellular phones, cash and belongings at various places. Twenty-eight other people complained to the police that their mobile phones were stolen.

KILLED: The body of a watchman bearing torture marks was found in the bushes in Manzoor Colony here on Tuesday.

Police said that Mohammad Liaquat, 45, was tortured to death by some unknown people. Police believe that the man, belonging to Bahawalnagar, may have had some personal enmity and thus his opponents killed him. Police have registered a case and are looking for the culprits.
