KARACHI, April 22: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, Karachi chapter, on Sunday staged a rally in front of the Karachi Press Club against a rocket attack on the residence of their party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

The participants were holding party flags and banners with anti-government and anti-US slogans. Qari Sher Afzal, Maulana Omar Sadiq, Maulana Abdul Karim Abid, Qari Mohammad Usman, Dr Naseerduddin Sawati, Hafiz Mohammad Naeem and others spoke on the occasion.

They condemned the rocket attack and termed it a calculated move of the US and the federal government to harass the JUI leadership and force them to give up their mission.

They demanded arrest of the culprits and announced to observe protest on April 27 in all the districts of the province.
