LAHORE, April 21: Javed Amre, the ‘most-wanted’ human trafficker in the country, was arrested from the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway on Saturday.

A news website, quoting FIA officials, said that the accused, belonging to Gujrat, had sent thousands of people by sea to Europe and elsewhere using illegal channels.

The accused was also wanted by authorities in Turkey, Iran and Greece. FIA said 40 Pakistanis who drowned when a ferry capsized near Greece coast had also been sent by the accused.
