DUBAI, April 18: An official of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Pakistan and Sri Lanka will clash in a three-match one-day series in Abu Dhabi, from May 10-16.

“Yes, the PCB has received confirmation of the event from the organisers — Abu Dhabi Cricket Association (ADCA) and we have confirmed our participation as per our obligation to play in Abu Dhabi,” the PCB Director Operations Zakir Khan was quoted as saying by Khaleej Times.

He added that all contractual issues like appearance money and other details have been sorted out, adding that the PCB was eager to fulfil the commitment made earlier although the format of the competition had changed due to South Africa’s decision not to participate.

Earlier, a three-nation tournament was planned by the ADCA with Pakistan, Sri Lanka and South Africa to be the participants.

Zakir stated in view of the confirmation of the event a conditioning camp would start from May 1 at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.—Agencies
