KARACHI, April 18: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Wednesday ordered the Board of Revenue to extend formal approval for setting up two projects of livestock and cement, so that meaningful progress could be initiated immediately.

The chief minister issued this order during his meeting with a three-member Qatar government delegation, which called on him at the Chief Minister’s House. The delegation was led by Saifur Rehman, while its two other members were Jean Marc Rigel and GM of Qatar Islamic Bank Chaudhry Muhammad Wasi.

During the meeting Chief Secretary Sindh Shakil Durrani, secretary Board of Revenue (LU), secretary Livestock and Fisheries, secretary to chief minister, director general BoI, and chairman CMIC were also present.

The chief minister informed the delegation about decision of the Sindh cabinet, which had approved in principle 3,000 acres land for livestock project at Nabisar, with the remaining 7,000 acres near Thatta.

For the cement plant, the chief minister directed the BoR to arrange a specific site either at Thana Bola Khan near Nooriabad or some other site near Thatta that should have adequate raw material of lime and clay in the vicinity, with other needed material for the cement plant.

Regarding 7-Star hotel-cum-commercial/residential 40-storied complex on Sharea Faisal, the delegation was informed that before initiation of such a project clearance from Pakistan Air Force and Civil Aviation Authority was required as the project will be in the vicinity of the airport, which is a sensitive area.
