Arrests won’t deter MMA from protest

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD April 17: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal has said administrative restrictions and large-scale arrests of workers will not stop the alliance from holding a demonstration outside the Supreme Court building on Wednesday when the chief justice will appear before the Supreme Judicial Council.

Alliance president Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Syed Munawar Hasan and other leaders will lead the main procession in Islamabad.

This was stated by MMA deputy secretary-general Liaqat Baloch at a meeting with alliance workers here on Tuesday.

The meeting was informed that hundreds of alliance workers had been rounded up and raids were being made to make more arrests.
