PESHAWAR, April 17: NWFP Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai has said that the people of Federally Administered Tribal Areas are passing through a critical stage of their history, especially after 9/11 incident.

Talking to participants of the 36th Senior Management Course, who called on him at the Governor’s House on Tuesday, Mr Aurakzai said that after 9/11, Fata became focus of the world and people around the globe came to know about its state of under development and primitive way of life.

“The present situation has forced us to take concrete measures for the socio-economic uplift of Fata,” the governor said.

He said that the government had launched development activities in the area and a sustainable development plan had been chalked out, which would be implemented in five years followed by a consolidation period of four years.—APP
