MARDAN: Woman hanged

MARDAN, April 14: A woman was hanged by unidentified men and threw her body in a canal in the Mahonarai village on Friday. According to police, during a routine patrol, a police party was informed by area people of the presence of the woman’s body in the canal.

The policemen took the body of the woman and buried it in a local graveyard after carrying out legal formalities. They also registered a case against unidentified men.

According to police, the medical examination of the body suggested that the woman was hanged as some signs had been found around her neck.

SUICIDE: A married woman committed suicide by taking poison. The suicide is said to be the result of some domestic dispute with her family in Garhi Dolatzai village.

Sumera Bibi, wife of Fazal Ali of Garhi Dolatzai village, committed suicide after taking the poison.

Asad Khan, a brother of the victim, lodged an FIR with the Shahbaz Garhi Police Station.

He said he was present in the house when informed that his sister had committed suicide. He avoided mentioning the cause of the suicide in the FIR.
