Balochistan bag shooting gold

KARACHI, April 13: Asadullah Bazai of Balochistan emerged from nowhere to snatch the Big Bore Rifle gold in National Games Shooting contest at National Shooting Range on Friday.

Bazai, a banker from Quetta, mustered 148/200 points to lead the field and eventually give Balochistan first-ever gold in the history of the shooting. His achievement was all the more remarkable in the presence of international shooters from Navy, Army and Sindh.

Asad Khan from Army snapped the silver while Lt. Col. Sakhawat got the bronze.

Army, however grabbed the team gold in big bore rifle with Balochistan contended with silver and Navy collecting the bronze.

Reigning Champion Pakistan Navy maintained their domination by adding two more ladies gold to finish the sixth day at 16-12-5 and Army occupied second position with 12 gold, 14 silver and 11 bronze medals.

Four more golds will be at offer on the final day in centre-fire pistol individual and team competition and double team solo and team contest.— APP
