PESHAWAR, April 13: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company will establish five grid stations and install heavy transformers in 19 overloaded grid stations of the NWFP. The decision was taken at a meeting of the company’s board of directors held here, said a press release. Pesco chairman Wing Commander (retd) Jamshed Savul presided over the meeting which was attended by company chief executive Brig Sakhi Marjan, Mir Hatim Khan, Ahmad Nawaz Mughal and other senior members.

The board approved bifurcation of feeders to overcome the problem of overloading.

The Pesco chief executive told the meeting that the company had electrified 2,300 villages last year and 1,300 villages this year so far. He said efforts were being made to provide electricity to all villages of the NWFP by the end of the year.
