KARACHI: 36 dentists get degrees

KARACHI, April 13: The first convocation ceremony of Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine was held on Thursday night. Thirty six graduates received their degrees. Bahria University, Islamabad awarded the degrees to the successful dentists.

The chief guest, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir, said that the doctors should contribute to the wellbeing of country.

Rector, Bahria University Islamabad Vice Admiral Farooq Rashid said that the Bahria University was satisfied with the education imparted to students and the facilities maintained at the premises.

This is borne by the excellent results achieved by its students in various examinations and recognition of the institute by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

Principal Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine Dr Mohammad Altamash in his welcome address highlighted the institutes achievements in the last four years in which it has been recognised by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP).

He said the institute had entered into a joint venture with Karolinska Institute Medical University of Sweden to start a Ph.D programme.

The Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) is the first dental institute of Pakistan, to launch a regular PhD programme in dentistry.

Professor Bjorn Klimnge and Dr.Bob Gollaher Vice President also spoke on the occasion.
