Gangsters arrested

LAHORE, April 9: City division CIA claimed on Monday to have arrested three members of an inter-provincial gang involved in 102 incidents of murder, dacoity murder and bank robbery.

A team, constituted by the CIA SP and headed by the city DSP, nabbed Sher Afzal alias Afzala, Adnan and Abid of Sher Afzal gang on a tip-off.

The police seized a pickup, 10 cell phones, cash worth Rs300,000 besides illegal weapons from their possession.

The accused had gunned down Zafar Iqbal on resistance in Lahore in 1994 while one of the gangster, Mussadiq alias Kukoo, had shot dead six people in Sialkot district courts after receiving huge amount. —Staff Reporter
