World’s ‘largest’ mural

LAHORE, April 9: Shahryar from the Rafi Peer Theatre has claimed to create the world’s largest mural bearing handprints of thousands of children and the mural has been registered with the Guinness World Record.

Shahryar told Dawn on Monday that the 80×80 mural had the handprints of 12,000 schoolchildren from 95 Lahore schools.

He said his 6,400 square feet mural had surpassed the record of Chinese. He said children enjoyed the activity which took place at the Football Stadium near the Qadhafi Stadium. The children participating in the activity were between 3 to 14 years of age. The mural would put on display for the public soon, he said. —Staff Reporter
