SAHIWAL, April 9: At least four people died and 10 injured in different traffic accidents in the district on Monday. A Lahore-bound car (LEA-5144) overturned when its front tyre burst near Chak 63/5-L on the GT Road. Mahmood Ahmed, of Chichawatni died on the spot while Maulvi Muhammad Ashiq and Zahid sustained serious injuries.

Similarly, on Sahiwal-Pakpattan road, near Chak 84/D, a car (Karachi-4401) overturned. As a result, Ehsan Ullah, a trader of Faisalabad, died while his wife and three children sustained injuries. The condition of two children, Allah Dad and Rafiq Dad, is stated to be serious in the hospital.

On Sahiwal-Arifwala road an unregistered vehicle collided with a donkey cart. As a result, Taj Muhammad died on the spot, while his mother Riaz Bibi and aunt Mumtaz were seriously injured.

On Noorshah-Faisalabad road, near Chak 85/6-R, a truck (MNM-3611) ran over a motorcycle (SLQ-5680). Motorcyclist Muhammad Akram died on the spot, while his friends Ramzan and Shahid were seriously injured. Police registered the case.

PROBE ORDERED: The DHQ hospital MS has ordered a probe into non-functioning of a Rs22.5 million CT Scan machine donated to the hospital by London-based Mehmood Ahmad. The mechine reportedly developed a fault a few days back. It was installed at the hospital some two years ago.

MS Dr Sohail Bloch said a new machine would soon be imported to provide diagnostic facility to local people.
