Master plan prepared for AJK capital
MUZAFFARABAD, April 6: The master plan for the Azad Kashmir capital has been prepared to cope with problems faced by the city’s people, space constraints and future needs, an official said here on Friday, urging officials not to mislead people with unfounded statements.
Zahid Amin, chairman of the Muzaffarabad Development Authority, told a function
organised by a local NGO that the masterplan had been prepared by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) and called for relocating 4,000 families from various localities in proposed satellite towns.
Around 1,200 kanals of land would be made available for civic purposes after relocating offices which did not directly dealt with public, he said.
Mr Amin urged political leaders to refrain from issuing ‘hollow and unfounded’ statements and said that it only multiplied people’s frustration and worries.
The AJK premier had been insisting that the civil secretariat would be relocated along the Muzaffarabad-Kohala road, which stirred a series of protests in the AJK capital.
He urged people to cooperate with the development authority for the successful implementation of the masterplan.
