Doctors found absent

Published April 7, 2007

TIMERGARA, April 6: No doctor was found present on duty at the Talash rural health centre in Lower Dir town when an MPA along with some media persons made a surprise visit there on Friday.

Patients and their relatives complained to the MPA, Muzaffar Said, that the four doctors posted at the centre were rarely found on duty there.

The MPA was also told that the absence of doctors along with shortage of facilities at the hospital has forced them instead to opt for private clinics and other health centres located at far off areas. Mr Said assured the people that he would take up the issue with the health minister.
